Originally
the Dependence was the farm house on which the villa depended
for its produce from the vines, olives, orchards and chestnut
groves of the estate.
In later times it became a coach house. We still produce our own
wine and oil, but the Dependence has been converted into wonderful
accommodation for groups or families up to a number of 20
The Dependence has a large central room with stone pillars and
comfortable seating around an open fireplace. At the back of the
room is a dining room. Next to the dining room there is a true
cook's kitchen with a large marble-topped table for making pasta,
a wooden table for chopping, and a separate larder; ideal for
cookery classes. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and
eight upstairs, sleeping 20 altogether.
A pleasant patio offers an area for relaxing under
sun-shades, eating al fresco or studying.
This building can be used in conjunction with the Villa for larger
groups, in which case the central room can be re-arranged, as
a large dining area seating 30.
Apart from the gardens close to the house, we have attractive
grounds offering walks through olive groves. The swimming pool
has a children's area at one end and is safely fenced.
